Lecture Performance

"Everybody has fluff, but to pass around the bell bag so that the listener's blow-dried hair is stabilized with powdered sugar and thus a ballot box becomes an object of authority ... that's true art."

A performative reading with taste by Anna Sophie Adelt, Judith Breitenbrunner, Klara Fehsenmayr, Jasmin Karr, Elisabeth Süß, Angelika Wonisch... and Thomas Raab.

How does an art collection come into being?
What is the difference between private and public collecting?
How diverse are museum collections in 2022?
What about the topic of provenance research and restitution?
How can art collections be preserved for the future?

Students from the Cultural Studies and Media Culture & Art Theories programs at the Linz University of Art explored these questions in the joint course over the winter semester 2021/22. The blog kunstsammeln.ufg.atwhich was created as a work in progress in collaboration with the Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz, is the result of this search and aims to find answers to the above questions for you.

Current artistic and cultural positions and productions often operate across borders: ephemeral, participatory and situational. They often operate below the threshold of perception with digital interfaces and sensors.

For all nomads between theory and practice who want to understand, analyse and question the hybrid techniques, formats and strategies of contemporary art, culture and media productions, the Kunstuniversität Linz offers the academic Master MKKT - Media Culture and Art Theories.
