Body-machine experiments

Insights into the Artistic Basics Course

The Painting-Playground with its apparatus and materials invites visitors to create graphic and painterly traces in a playful process. Humour, surprise and chance play an important role.

Graphic and painterly traces refer to movements in time and space and inspire further movements.

The students of kinetic drawing also transfer movement and record traces. One's own body with its geometry and the resulting leverage effects becomes a drawing tool.

In a performative setting, whole-body auto-portraits are created that circumscribe one's own space of action. The potential of body-machine experiments for art pedagogical processes within and outside of school settings will be reflected on together.

"Documentary/Film"

Documentary Film Project

Semester project on the topic of documentary work

In the course of the semester, a topic is treated in documentary form. This includes researching and filming the initial situation as well as conducting interviews. The students also create a spatial intervention that artistically reflects their own position on the topic.

Art project / experiment about symmetry

from 19.00

Artistic practice

A site-specific project by Hubert Lobnig and Moritz Matschke

The symmetrical arrangement of the bridgehead buildings on Linz's Hauptplatz and the mirror-image sameness of the two facades are the starting point for a site-specific intervention by Hubert Lobnig and Moritz Matschke that reflects the preference of totalitarian systems for simple forms of symmetry. The films, which are projected simultaneously by two projectors onto the two opposite facades, unbalance the architecture and turn its interior inside out. Two mirror-like figures on the roof vary themes and riffs from the film music to Dead Man by Neil Young. The art project reflects.

In the field of tension between
* scientific theories on art, culture and pedagogy,
* my own artistic and creative work and
* practical pedagogical work with children and adolescents
the Bachelor's degree programme in Artistic Education offers an intensive examination of a wide variety of visual and artistic manifestations against the background of their social and cultural frameworks as well as their historical contexts.

The Master's degree programme in Artistic Education provides artistic, subject-specific and subject-specific didactic, pedagogical-scientific, educational-scientific and practical training for secondary and higher schools. A teaching qualification for the subject of Artistic Education can only be obtained with the successful completion of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the respective subject.
